2015-2016 Holiday Schedule

Here is our Holiday Schedule for December/January!

New Drive-Thru Memorial tees now in stock!

Remember the drive-thru in style!

With the looming closure of the drive-thru, we asked our social media community to share their drive-thru memories with the hashtag #idrovethru so we could celebrate what this unique place meant to so many different people over the passed 20 years. Our hearts exploded from the amount of love and support that poured in. Customers, passed employees, and people who regularly just walked by our colourful shack shared beautiful, funny – even sad – anecdotes about how the drive-thru was entwined in significant parts of their lives.

We quickly realized that there might be people out who were just as torn up about this big change as Steve, his family, and the Steve-O's team.

So...we hired our incredibly talented friend to design a drive-thru memorial tee-shirt! These have been a huge hit and we're so excited that we were able to pull this off before the holidays.

Check out our selection of colours and sizes at our cafe, Seaport Market, and at the Forum Market on Saturdays!

Espresso Drive-Thru to close after 20 years

If you were a drive-thru customer, or if you drive down Robie St. between Young St. and Almon St. on your daily commute, you will have noticed that there have been some huge changes in that area. The old Piercey's building behind our turquoise drive-thru building has been torn down – in fact it was torn down in a record few days.

We had known for the passed two years that a day would come when this development would begin, and, subsequently, our drive-thru location would be forced to close. This day came on November 6, 2015.

Here's a letter we posted on social media to inform our customers of this change:

Dear valued customers,
We regret to inform you that the Steve-O-Reno’s drive thru (2854 Robie St) will close permanently on November 6, 2015 due to planned construction at this address.
While we are sad to see the drive-thru close, we are excited to focus on the other three Steve-O-Reno's locations and our espresso catering business.
We want to thank all of you for your business and support over the past years. Our incredible team and loyal customers like you are what helped shape the drive-thru into the unique place that it was.
Please help us say goodbye and celebrate the drive-thru by sharing your favourite memories on social media with the hashtag ‪#‎iDroveThru‬ .
We hope to see you at our other locations:
- Cafe / 1536 Brunswick St
Halifax Seaport Farmers Market / Open 7 days a week
Halifax Forum Farmers' Market / Open Saturdays
Thank you,
Management

Why we love Square for small business

We now accept credit cards at all Steve-O-Reno's locations. For the past 2 years, we have been using an app called Square as our POS system and to process cards. They've recently launched a feature that allows you to process payments offline. This is hugely beneficial to our mobile espresso catering business and at our Halifax Seaport Farmers Market and drive thru locations.

If you run a small business, sell goods at craft shows or farmers markets, work on the go, or just need to be able to accept payments wherever you are, we strongly recommend Square. We've had success using it regularly on an iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad.

We're vouching for this app of our own accord because it has been extremely useful for our business and we're eager to share this tool with other entrepreneurs.

The Dashboard analytics, or back office part of the app, is helpful for tracking both credit card and cash sales and trends.

If you want to try it out, you can activate here to get $1000 in free processing. No contract or hidden fees.
